Longwood to offer free financial aid workshop

February 8, 2008

Longwood University will participate in “Super Saturday” a special financial aid workshop for high school seniors sponsored by the Virginia Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators on Saturday, February 16 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The free workshop, to be held on campus in Hiner Hall, will cover a wide range of financial aid topics including how to submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online. Financial aid counselors will be available to answer questions and provide guidance on how to pay for college.   Karen Schinabeck, director of financial aid at Longwood University, stated, “This is a great way for high school seniors and their parents to get answers to some of those important financial aid questions.  February is Financial Aid Awareness month and we hope to get a good turnout.”

Anyone who wishes to file the FAFSA online should bring W-2 statements and tax returns to the workshop.    Counselors will be available to help with the online application process.  For more information about Longwood’s financial aid workshop on “Super Saturday,” please call 434.395.2079.
