Richmond entrepreneur to be Longwood Executive-in-Residence speaker

Entrepreneur and former corporate executive Heyn Kjerulf will be the Executive-in-Residence speaker Tuesday, Sept. 16, at 7 p.m. in Longwood University’s Hiner Auditorium. He will speak on "Business, Creativity and Art."

Kjerulf, of Richmond, has since 1994 been a self-employed financial backer and principal in three startup businesses. From 1986 to 1994 he was president of Sasib Corporation of America in Richmond, the North American marketing and operating base of an Italian engineered products group.

He held several leadership positions during his career with American Machinery & Foundry (AMF), once one of the largest recreational equipment companies in the United States, from 1968 to 1985. His positions included president and executive vice president of AMF Union Machinery Inc. in Richmond, president of AMF Head Division in Boulder, Colo., and president of U.S. and Canadian Operations, AMF World Tobacco Group in Richmond.

Kjerulf, who has a passion for the arts, is president of the Longwood Center for the Visual Arts advisory board and a current or former member of numerous arts organizations. HHHHe is a graduate of Lafayette College, where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Tau Beta Pi honor societies, and also has studied in Harvard Business School.
