The campus master plan for Longwood University will be presented to the public on Wednesday, October 8 at 7 p.m. in Wygal Hall on campus. Longwood officials and representatives from Moseley Architects will present the plan and address questions during this special presentation, which will give local residents a good perspective on Longwood’s plans for the future. The campus master plan addresses the university’s physical development as it plans how to best meet the academic, residential, and social needs of the campus community through 2020.
“We are pleased to present this campus master plan to the Farmville community,” said Richard Bratcher, vice president for facilities management and real property at Longwood. “This plan represents more than a year of comprehensive planning with input from faculty, students, staff as well as residents and town leaders of Farmville and surrounding communities. It is exciting to see the possibilities for the Longwood of tomorrow. I hope that we will have a good turnout for this presentation.”
Moseley Architects of Virginia Beach have completed a three-phase process resulting in the final plan which was submitted to and approved by the Longwood University Board of Visitors during its meeting on September 12-13. The newly-approved campus master plan is the first comprehensive plan for Longwood since 1991.
