Longwood celebrates 50th anniversary of partner school in China
Longwood University, which has had an exchange program with Anhui University of Technology (AHUT) in China since 2004, recently helped the Chinese university celebrate its 50th anniversary. Longwood was AHUT's only international partner that was invited to the 50th anniversary celebration, to represent all of their international partners. The celebration featured comments by numerous people involved in the partnership, including Longwood President Patricia Cormier, one of the 26 AHUT students and both AHUT faculty members on campus, students in the Chinese language class taught by one of those professors, and three Longwood faculty members (Dr. Evelyn Hume, Claire La Roche and Dr. Lily Run Ren) who have taught there and a Longwood student who studied there last summer (Nicole Parker).
