The College of Education and Human Services recently presented four "Professionals Who Made a Difference Awards" during a banquet in Longwood's Dorrill Dining Hall.
Recipients of the 2011 awards were Dr. H. Douglas Cox, assistant superintendent of special education and student services at the Virginia Department of Education; Lisa Williams '91, a teacher at the Maggie Walker Governor's School for Government and International Studies; Dr. Yvonne Smith-Jones, board member of the Southside Virginia Regional Technology Consortium and retired educator from Hopewell Schools; and Beverly Lammay, coordinator of community relations for Henrico Public Library and legislative liaison to the General Assembly for Henrico Public Schools.
The annual awards recognize professionals in the disciplines of Longwood's College of Education and Human Services who have made significant contributions to their professional fields.
