Longwood's Dr. Steven Faulkner featured in the media about his book-turned-movie, WaterWalk
April 13, 2012
An interview with Dr. Steven Faulkner, associate professor of English and author of WaterWalk: A Passage of Ghosts, appears in the April 13 edition of the Richmond Times-Dispatch. The article, "Author's journey turns into a movie," was written by Andy Thompson for his Outdoor column that is part of the sports section. In addition, Dr. Faulkner discussed WaterWalk with Francis Wood during the April 5th Call FLO program on WFLO (95.7 FM, 870 AM).
In 1996, Dr. Faulkner and his son retraced the 1,000-mile river voyage made by French explorers Marquette and Joliet in 1673, from the Straits of Mackinac on Lake Michigan to St. Louis, Missouri. Dr. Faulkner recounted the 61-day trip in his 2008 book, WaterWalk: A Passage of Ghosts.
An independent film based on the book will premiere in Longwood's Jarman Auditorium on Monday, April 16 at 7:30 p.m. Dr. Faulkner will sign copies of WaterWalk on Thursday, April 5 from 1-2 p.m. at Barnes & Noble. For more information, visit: www.longwood.edu/2012releases_42036.htm
