Dr. Tomiko Brown-Nagin, a University of Virginia professor of law and history, will speak Tuesday, Feb. 5, at 7 p.m. in Wygal Auditorium on "The Courage to Dissent: Civil Rights Movements Past and Future." The title is from a forthcoming book of the same name by Dr. Tomiko-Nagin, the F. Palmer Weber research professor in civil liberties and human rights, which explores African-American ambivalence about liberal legalism before and after Brown v. Board of Education. Her talk is part of African-American History Month.
