The exhibitions Potluck! Works by LCVA Members and Layered Meanings and Allusions: Prints by Janice Lemen and Barbara L. Bishop will be on display at the Longwood Center for the Visual Arts through April 26. Bishop (1938-1991) was a 1960 Longwood graduate who taught in the art department from 1965 to 1990, served as chair for 14 years, and was instrumental in establishing the LCVA. Lemen (1916-1994) taught art at Longwood from 1944 to 1979 and started the LCVA's Virginia Artists Collection in 1951. The collection has grown to 679 works.
