November 13, 2009
Martin Clark, a Virginia judge who is the author of three award-winning novels and has been called "the thinking man's John Grisham," will speak Nov. 13 in Greenwood Library, in a Friends of the Library event that is free and open to the public. There will be a reception at 6 p.m., and Clark will speak at 7 p.m. and sign books at 8 p.m., all in the atrium. Though the event is free and open to the public, persons who want to attend must RSVP to Keary Mariannino by phone (395-2431), email (marianninokm@longwood.edu), or in person (Greenwood Library 122).
Clark, who lives in Stuart and is a circuit court judge in Patrick and Henry counties, is the author of The Legal Limit, Plain Heathen Mischief, and The Many Aspects of Mobile Home Living. A legal thriller, The Legal Limit, published in 2008, has been called "the new standard by which other works of legal fiction should be judged" and "the best courtroom story ever." His two previous novels were acclaimed for their wacky humor.
