November 15, 2009
The Longwood University Percussion Ensemble will present a concert Sunday, Nov. 15, at 4 p.m. in Molnar Recital Hall in Wygal. The
five-member ensemble, directed by Chris Thomas, adjunct member of the music faculty and director of percussion studies, will perform "Ogoun Badagris," a Haitian drumming piece; "Out of Town," a fast contemporary jazz tune by the Yellowjackets with faculty guest soloist Dr. Charles Kinzer, and "Letter from Home," a Pat Metheny ballad with steel pans, which have recently been added to the ensemble. Student soloists will perform between these pieces.
