This service works best if you are looking for ideas to start your research or if you have questions about how to use a Library resource. If you have a question that requires us to do extensive research, try asking by e-mail. This service is available during Learning Commons Hours when classes are in session.
Will I need to wait to chat with the librarian?
We address questions on a first-come, first-served basis. If the Learning Commons Desk is busy or if there are other IM users, you may need to wait a few minutes.
Can I e-mail lulibrarian at its AIM, Yahoo!, MSN, or GMAIL account?
No. We maintain accounts with these providers for IM only – we do not check the associated e-mail accounts. E-Mail questions should be directed to our E-Mail service.
The Library is not responsible for any charges you may accrue while text messaging us, and it may take up to five minutes for your first message to reach us.
During Learning Commons hours, call 434.395.2435. Distance education students (defined as students currently enrolled in Longwood University off-campus or online courses and living more than 20 miles from campus) may use the special toll-free number provided by the instructor to reach the above phone numbers.
