The Location of Anhui University of Technology

Anhui University of Technology is in Ma'anshan, a city on the southern banks of the Yangtse River, in the eastern part of Anhui Province. The city is noted for the high quality of its environment which has been recognized in the granting of a number of national awards: "National Garden City", "National Top Quality Environment City", and "First Class National Tourism City". On the outskirts of the city is "Caishi Rock", regarded as the most magnificent of the "Three Rocks alongside the Yangtse River", unique as a scenic, historical and cultural site. Li Bai, one of the greatest Tang Dynasty poets, enjoyed the natural beauty of this spot and while boating and drinking on the river, wrote many popular poems, such as "Gazing at Tianmen Mountain". An annual poetry festival held at Cai Shi welcomes visitors from all over the world.

Ma'anshan is ideally located for visiting Anhui Province's other attractions. It is a province with a variety of natural attractions and cultural heritage sites. The ancient villages of Xidi and Hongcun in the south of the province are a World Heritage Site, as is Huang Shan, one of eastern China's greatest mountain landscapes. Jiu Hua Shan is an ancient sacred Buddhist mountain. Tourism now plays a significant role in the economy of the province.
At the same time, Ma'anshan is only 30 minutes drive from Nanjing, the capital of the first emperor of the Ming Dynasty and today one of China's prosperous great cities. Further afield, Shanghai is only a 3-hour drive away.

For travel around Anhui and further afield there are good train, bus, or boat services. The nearest airport is at Nanjing.
