  • Winners in the 2008 Why Study Abroad Scholarship Contest willl receive $1,000 and $500 study abroad scholarships at the Scholarship and Awards Banquet on April 8, 2008.  Congratulations to this year's scholarship winners: 

    • Kristen Gaines, who will study abroad in Ireland

    • Kyle Gannon, who will study abroad in Spain

    • Brittany Hackenberg, who will study abroad in Slovakia

  • International Student Ceremony April 22, 2008.  Hull Auditorium
    All students and faculty are invited to a closing ceremony for international exchange and study abroad students who will be leaving Longwood to return to their universities abroad.  Join us to see their presentations about their experiences here at Longwood.  President Cormier will present each student with a certificate of participation, and there will be refreshments afterward.

Thurs., September 18, 2008,     4:00-6pm
Lankford Ballroom

 Meet students and faculty who have been abroad.  Meet exchange students from our  partner universities abroad.  See slide shows, pick up information about programs all over the world.  Learn how to plan study abroad into your degree program without delaying  graduation.     Take the "Global IQ Quiz."

Schedule of Events at the Fair:

Lankford Ballroom: 4-6pm Information on study abroad all over the world, slide shows, refreshments, meet students with stories to tell about their experiences abroad.

“C” Room:
4:00-5:00 Focus on College of Business and Economics study abroad.  Informal talk with officials from the College of Business and Economics on the importance of study abroad in preparing for your future career. Meet business students and professors from China; learn how you can go to their university next summer with Dr. Lily Ren.

"A" Room:
5:00-6:00 Focus on England:  Meet exchange students from the University of Plymouth, England, and Dr. James Munson and Dr. Melissa Pine, exchange professors of History who spent the Spring 07 semester in each other's place.  Learn how you can spend a semester in England too.  See lots of pictures.  Especially for majors in History, Political Science, English, Theater.
