School of Translation and Interpretation
One-for-One Exchange Program

 

For Modern Language Majors:  Courses in language, culture, linguistics, translation.
French, German, English, Spanish...

University of Geneva International Students' Program (GISP):
For students in History, Political Science, Economics, Humanities and Social Sciences

Courses taught in English.  Fall semester only.  Study international law and international organizations, intellectual and cultural history of Geneva, present-day political, economic and social situation of Geneva within Europe.


Who is eligible?

Longwood University students in any major are eligible.  Prerequisites include a minimum grade point average of 3.0 or higher, and completion of French 102 or equivalent (for GISP).

Costs

You will pay Longwood tuition and fees.  You will pay for room and board separately in Geneva; the University of Geneva's Accommodations Office will assist you to find student housing.

Application Procedure

You must apply through the Longwood University Office of International Affairs. In addition to submitting the Longwood University Study Abroad Application and other required forms (see checklist), you will also submit a University of Geneva application and other documents:

print it and submit to the Longwood University Office of International Affairs with the following:

q       Cover letter (in French)

q       Curriculum vitae (in French)

q       General letter of recommendation by a professor from the home institution

q       Letter of recommendation by a professor attesting the ability of the student to follow courses taught in French

q       Academic transcript

q       Copy of passport
