Greece &
Turkey: Clash of Civilizations?

Summer
2009
We will examine conflict
around the Aegean since Antiquity, but just as importantly, we will be
looking at the construction of boundaries that mean to forestall
conflict, at the cross-cultural contacts that happen in the face of conflict,
and the growing cooperation that marks the relations of these two
nations. That's actually the point of the question mark in the
course subtitle.
