Participation in this program waives General Education Goal 9.

In May 2010, travel to Bangkok and surrounding areas of Thailand's capital to study economics.  Dr. Melanie Marks and Dr. Scott Wentland will be leading the program, which will spend time at Ayutthaya (the ancient capital of form Siam), Kanchanaburi (known for ecotourism), Krabi (popular beach resort town), and even possibly Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia.

Excursions include:

  • Famous bridge over River Kwai
  • Floating markets and night markets
  • Death Railway and Hellfire Pass
  • Buddhist temples and palaces
  • Elephant trekking and bathing with elephants
  • River rafting, swimming in 7-tierd waterfall
  • Snorkeling and touring beautiful beaches
  • Ride water taxis, tuk tuk's, trains, etc.
  • Visit floating restaurants, stay on floating hostel
  • Possible trip to Kuala Lumpur, capital of Malaysia

The expected cost of the program is $1,995.00.  This price will cover all transport, lodging, excursions, and most meals.
Tuition is not included in the above cost. 

Tuition Rates for Summer 2010

In-State: $190.30 per credit hour
Out of State: $477.40 per credit hour
