Change for Longwood
Change Matters
Sparing is caring. Dig into your pockets, wipe out your car console, swipe your couch cushions-your loose change has the power to create progress on our campus.
Change matters, really.
Competing for Change
Change Wars
Bring on the change! We will be hosting 3 Change Wars Change Collection Events in the spring. Take action to help your class win and help a fellow student in need!
- Event #1- 2.14.11 from 11-4 at Brock Commons
- Event #2-3.31.11 from 11-4 at Brock Commons
- Event #3 4.25.11-4.28.11 at Brock Commons
Rules
Bring all your loose change to one of the 3 (or all, even better!) Change Wars Change Collection Events. We'll count the change and tally the points. The class with the most points (at the end of the semester after all events are complete) wins!
- Nickles, dimes, quarters, dollar bills= + points
- Pennies= - points
Change Chains
When you bring your change to the collection event, we will add a chain link in your honor to your assigned class chain. The more people who participate in Change Wars, the longer your class chain will grow and the more help we can provide across campus! Each class has their own colored chain that will hang in the Student Union for everyone to see the progress your class has made!
- Senior Class- Gray, Blue, White Combination
- Junior Class-Gray
- Sophomore Class-Blue
- Freshman Class-White
Help a peer...
When you participate in Change for Longwood, your donation will go to the Lewis C. and Lillie B. Clements Book Fund, to help an undergraduate student(s) in need with purchasing their textbooks. The more money we collect, the more students we will be able to help!
It's easy to make change:
- Collect your change and drop it off during one of our 3 Change Collection Events-Change Wars Competition Between Classes
- LancerCASH
- OR make an online gift with VISA, MasterCard, or Discover
- OR mail a check to University Advancement, 201 High St., Farmville, VA 23909
You may also choose to allocate your gift to an area that best suits your passions through online giving.
Because you chose to be dedicated to change, your name will be included in an Honor Roll of Donors ad in the last edition of the Rotunda in the spring.
