SALLY ANGLE, '98, is a field anthropologist with Goodwin and Associates, Frederick, MD, where she has been digging at a seventeenth century historic site since graduation.

BRIAN BATES, '92, received his Ph.D. from the University of London and has been Director of the Longwood University Archaeology Field School since 1998.  He is now Assistant Professor of Anthropology at Longwood University and is currently conducting archaeological investigations on a Late-Woodland Amerindian village on the Staunton River and on pre-Columbian settlement patterns in the U.S. and British Virgin Islands. batesbd@longwood.edu

YVONNE NICOLE BOUDREAU, `97, was awarded a two-year scholarship to be a Graduate Student Assistant at Wayne State University in Detroit where she earned her Master’s degree in Library and Information Science in 2001.  She currently lives in Traverse City, Michigan where she is a Senior Information Research Specialist (a.k.a. LEIGH ANNE (CHAMBERS) HUDSON, '03, recently became a Pretrial Officer with Middle Peninsula Local Probation & Pretrial Services. She investigates defendants from the Gloucester County Jail and Middle Peninsula Regional Security Center, and supervises defendants on bond with charges typically in the Gloucester, Mathews, and Middlesex county courts. "I am really enjoying it and it is definitely never boring! I feel like I am finally using both my Sociology and Anthropology degrees, which is a good feeling!" (1-30-08)

JONATHAN COLLINS, '95, Is currently a high school Special Education teacher for Chesterfield County Public schools. He teaches at Manchester High School. MIKE DUNN, '93, received his master's degree in archaeology at the University of Southern Mississippi in June and is working as an archaeologist for the U.S. Forest Service in Mississippi and Louisiana.

SVETLANA DURKOVIC, '96, received her master's degree in anthropology at the University of Chicago in August 1997 and hopes to start on a Ph.D. in the next two years. BOB FLIPPIN, '83, has published his second book, Historical Notes on Buckingham, 1890-1899. He has
founded his own publishing company, Southside Virginia Historical Press, which lists 71 titles.

WILLIAM FLINT, '98, has been accepted in the graduate program in physical anthropology, University of Tennessee, where he will begin working on the Master's of Science degree in Anthropology this September.

AMIE BELIVEAU GEREMIA, '92, graduated with an MA in History with a concentration in Museum Studies from Middle Tennessee State University in December 2000. She is working in the Exhibitions Department at Nashville's newest and largest art institution - the Frist Center for the Visual Arts, a non-collecting (or "borrowing") institution with an interesting schedule of changing exhibitions. STEVE GIBBONS, '95, has received his M.A. Degree in Nautical Archaeology from East Carolina University for his thesis on "Piracy in the Carolinas, 1700's."

ASHLEY GREEN, '07, is currently working on her MA in Museum Studies at Bournemouth University in England.  She expects to complete her degree in September 2008 and will receive her MA in March 2009.  After graduation, she plans to work in a museum archive or archaeology lab cataloging and cleaning artifacts. AUDREY BERG JOHNSON, '93, is a collections management assistant at the National Museum of American History in Washington, DC where she specializes in the photographic history collection of medical science.

CRAIG JONES, '00, has been accepted in the graduate program in anthropology at Catholic University for fall 2000.

ALEXANDRA KENNY, Archaeology Field School, '95, '96, is a graduate student at George Washington University working on her Master's in Field Archaeology.

MELISSA J. LEAKE, '98, is a contract archaeologist with C. R. I., Inc. in Leesburg, Virginia where she is excavating a historic site dating to the early 1700s. She will be moving to Indiana in March to begin a laboratory position with a year-long prehistoric site project administered by Indiana University laboratory of Archeological Research.

WHITNEY LOWRANCE, '99 and Archeology Field School '97: Whitney worked at the historic Francis Land House in Virginia Beach, and is currently employed at the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation as a historic sites interpreter. She is also a storyteller and an actress in the play "Cry Witch", which is about Grace Sherwood, 'the witch of Pungo'. KAREN OWENS, '98, is Chief Archivist, Bedford County Historical Society and Bedford Circuit Court in Bedford, Virginia. Among other tasks she carries out documentary searches for papers containing signatures of Thomas Jefferson, Patrick Henry and others and restores selected, signed documents.

JUSTIN PATTON, '88, currently serves as the County Archaeologist for Prince William County, VirginiaHe has conducted archaeological investigations and cultural resource management projects in the Middle Atlantic region (Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, and Washington D.C.), Arkansas, Florida, Michigan, Ohio, and Texas.  He has also conducted international historic preservation efforts assisting the Republic of Georgia and an oil company consortium preserve and mitigate cultural resources from the Bronze Age, Iron Age, and Medieval Age.  Prior to his current position he worked as a Senior Archaeologist for URS Corporation in Gaithersburg, Maryland, as an archaeologist for Parsons Corporation, as Assistant Cultural Resources Manager for Fairfax County Park Authority, and as a staff archaeologist for Engineering-Science, Inc.  He received his Master’s in Applied Anthropology at the University of Maryland, College Park, in 2001.  jspatton@pwcgov.org

TIMOTHY STANLEY,  ' 97, is currently working as an AutoCAD Technician and Survey Party Chief for Al Prince and Associates in Raleigh, NC.  He will take his first test towards becoming a Registered Surveyor in April 2002.  He is also expecting his first child in August 2002

ARMEID THOMPSON, '96, has completed an eighteen-month assignment with the U.S. Peace Corps in the Republic of Dominica in the Caribbean. She is now writing a children's book of stories and poems based on her experiences.
