Mississippi Mission Trip
Spring Break -March 2007
The Wesley Foundation Mission Team, made up of Longwood University students and members of Farmville United Methodist Church traveled to Mississippi during Spring Break. Working on the mission team were two College of Business & Economics students, Adam Estes and Greg Pizzeck, and Nancy Postans, administrative assistant in the McGaughy Professional Development Office.
The team worked on four houses in 5 days that had been damaged during Hurricane Katrina in the Gulfport/Biloxi area. The work consisted of roofing, sheet rocking, siding, general carpentry work and debris clean up.

Extreme Makeover Home Edition teamed up with local officials to create the memorial. Standing 12 feet tall, about the height of the storm surge, the memorial has a colorful tile inlay of a wave (not pictured) and a glass enclosed case with numerous items donated by victims of Hurricane Katrina.
