Longwood has a number of project goning on! Below is a list of all the project going on!
The Bedford Hall addition will start the end of October with the fencing to be the first to start.This project consists of renovating and constructing an addition to Bedford Hall. The new addition will be 47,000 square feet. It will contain studios, classrooms, offices and an art gallery. Construction will be done in two phase. Phase I is the construction of the new addition. Phase II will be the renovationof existing building and will be completed in two parts also. During part I the Department will occupy the existing building. At the completion of the Phase I, the Department will move into the new addition. When the move is complete Phase II will start.
The project is on schedue to be complete by January. This project will renovate Tabb to allow for a change in use. The University is converting residence hall space to administrative offices for the Athletics Department. This project shall modify the building'sstructural system and fire protection system. This project is on schedule, should be complete in November/December.
This project is on schedule to be finished at the end of February. This project will provide a two stop elevator addition to Wygal Hall. The addition will be constructed at the North entrance to Bedford.
This project will create a new vehicular and pedestrian access to Lancer Park which will cross over the Rails to Trails to Third Street. A pedestrian bridge wil be construced over Third Street to give access to Longwood.
This project is assocated with the New Heating Plant being constructed off of Madison Street. The new pedestrian traffic pattern will go a short ways down Madison then which to the South side then as you get closer to the old heating plant which back to the North side.
In order to allow occupancy of the mezzanine, Longwood will be putting an additional exit onto the President's Alley side of Blackwell. That will be complete by mid April. Blackwell will then go entirely offline so the renovation of the mezzanine can take place. This should be complete by June.
This project is mostly complete. We are waiting on signage, but the wording for them is complete. Longwood University's press release for the storm water pond.
This project started this September and is projected to last one year. This renovation will update the HVAC system, interior finishes and lighting and sound fixtures. this renovation will add a bus pull off in front of Jarman. Jarman will be LEED Silver when the renovation is complete.
