Theatre

Theatre at Longwood University has a deep history within the Longwood community. Longwood provides both its campus community and the surrounding community of Farmville opportunities to experience theatrical productions, while allowing majors specific experiences for future careers. Longwood Theatre offers a wide range of performances and courses to enrich performances, preparing majors for jobs such as a drama teacher or even actors who go on to perform with other theatrical companies. Theatre allows majors to concentrate in a curriculum of intense dramatics and the importance of the audiences relationship with those on stage. Theatre at Longwood offers main-stage, student-directed, children's matinee, and touring performances each year, giving majors the opportunity for a variety of environments in which to hone their various skills. Theatre, as a fine art form serves to provide majors with numerous career options.
