Register as an Alumni Network Volunteer in the Career Network

Given that networking is such an important part of career planning, the Academic & Career Advising Center staff often assists students in searching for successful individuals working in fields related to their career interests.

This is where YOU, as an Alum and successful individual, come in.

You can provide a very valuable gift to Longwood and Longwood students by becoming an Alumni Network Volunteer in the Career Network.  As an Volunteer, you may be asked to help students and even other alumni with career related issues through:

  • Informational interviews to answer questions about your career field (employment outlook, typical salaries, necessity for graduate school, etc.),
  • Posting internship for students and job opportunities for recent graduates and other alumni, and/or
  • Coming to campus help with programs, workshops, mock interviews or to speak to student groups/classes.

How do you become an Alumni Network Volunteer?

  • Go into the LongwoodLink (www.longwoodlink.com)

  • Click on “Career Network” in the menu on the left

  • Click the Profile link at the top of the page

  • Under the My Profile tab, find the Alumni Network Volunteer section and click to edit

  • Check which opportunities you are willing to assist with:

    • Internships

    • Career programs and workshops

    • Career advice

  • Be sure to update your contact and business information in your profile

Remember: Agreeing to be an Alumni Network Volunteer does not automatically mean that you will be contacted but that you agreed to be contacted.

If you need assistance or have questions, please contact
Mary Meade Saunders at 434-395-2063 or
the Alumni Relations Office at 434-395-2125.
