Recruiting Using Skype

What is Skype?
Skype is a software application that allows users to make voice or video calls over the internet. Skype software is free to download and video and voice calls are free to other Skype users. Software can be downloaded at www.skype.com.

Benefits:
Using Skype to interview students at Longwood eliminates travel and lodging costs, saving time and money. Additionally, it adds an element of convenience by allowing recruiters to interview right from their own offices.

Equipment Needs:
Skype software can be downloaded to your computer from the Skype website free of change. A webcam and microphone are necessary to operate Skype. Such equipment can be purchased for an estimated cost of $50-$60.
* Some computers now come equipped with internal microphones and/or webcams. Please be sure to check your computer before purchasing any equipment.*

How can I schedule interviews with Longwood students using Skype?
Please contact the Academic & Career Advising Center at 434-395-2063 to schedule an interview time and date.

Guidelines for conducting interviews with Longwood students:
All students will be interviewed from the Academic & Career Advising Center interview room. Principles of Professional Conduct apply.
