listening comprehension of the Japanese language. Introduction to basic
socio-cultural aspects of modern Japan. No previous study of Japanese
required or expected. Three lecture hours and one practical
reinforcement period per week, and required language lab work. 4

Japanese 102. Elementary
Japanese II. The skills
of basic oral expression and listening comprehension are further
developed. Prerequisite: Japanese 101. Three
lecture and one practical reinforcement periods, and language lab
