Advisory Boards
Superintendent's Network
The Superintendent's Network is a cooperative alliance between Longwood and the PreK-12 school divisions, Southside Virginia Community College, regional education networks, and public and private higher education institutions in Southside Virginia. Superintendents, administrators, and designated personnel from each constituent organization in Region 8 meet with Longwood University administrators and professors at least twice each academic year.
Partnership Advisory Council
The Partnership Advisory Committee consists of the chair of the Longwood Partnership Faculty Committee and representatives from the public schools (partnership superintendent, principal and two teachers). This committee meets semi-annually to discuss common concerns regarding the Partnership program and to make recommendations for improving the program and to handle policy matters.
Professional Educators Council
The Professional Educators Council provides the leadership and forum that brings the College of Education & Human Services and the College of Arts & Sciences together to facilitate communication across all education programs and cements the unit as one academic community.
The Professional Educators Council (PEC) was formed in Fall 2002 to provide a forum for all Longwood University faculty members involved in preparing professional educators to discuss and make recommendations to the deans of the two colleges regarding policy, procedures, and issues involved in educator preparation.
