LCCLL Staff
The mission of
the faculty, staff, and students at the Longwood Center is to
provide professional services to children, adults and families in
Southside Virginia. This includes:
-
Speech-Language-Screenings and
Evaluations (articulation, language,
voice, stuttering) for children and
adults
Treatment for Speech and Language
Disorders (articulation, language,
voice, stuttering) for children and
adults
Tutoring services in English, Math,
Science and Social Studies for
school-age children
Treatment of Swallowing
Disorders for children and adults
Communication
strategies and speech reading for
persons with hearing loss
Accent Modification
Educational Evaluations
Parent Education
Programs
Services are provided by graduate and
undergraduate students in
Communication Sciences and Disorders
and Education, under the supervision
of Longwood University faculty.
The Center also
houses the
Infant and Toddler Connection of the
Heartland which provides early
intervention services to seven
counties in Virginia's Heartland.
The Longwood Center for
Communication, Literacy, and Learning is located at Third and Main
Streets in Downtown Farmville. Our office
is on the third floor.
Client
parking is available directly behind the building in a lot off 3rd
street.

Three Longwood
students were recently recognized for
their service as volunteer tutors at
the Longwood Center for Communication,
Literacy, and Learning (LCCLL). Amanda
Chandler, Madeline Vrba, and Lisa
Robinson tutored on a weekly basis to
help school-age clients improve
reading and mathematics skills. Each
tutor received a certificate of
appreciation, a gift certificate to
Teaching Tools, and an LCCLL t-shirt.
Located at the corner of Third and
Main Street in downtown Farmville
(above the Daily Grind Coffee Shop),
the LCCLL offers academic tutoring
services year-round to the school-age
students and adults. For more
