Praxis Information
Licensure Information

Longwood University graduates who are applying
for an initial Virginia teacher licensure must submit the following
documents to the Office of Professional Services, Hull
141. Documents
are typically submitted on student teaching “Wrap-Up Day.”

A completed and signed Application for Initial
Virginia License (see link below to download)
-
An official copy of the Longwood University
transcript. (The Office of Professional Services requests a copy from
the Registrar. The student does not need to request a transcript.)

Copies of passing Praxis I Score
Report or SAT Score Report and Praxis II, VCLA and VRA Score Reports
(if applicable). (If using SAT in place of Praxis I must submit a
copy of SAT score report or copy of high school transcript with SAT
scores noted.)

A completed Form DA035, College Verification
Form (see link below to download). Students completing the student
teaching semester do not submit this form. The form will be completed
by the Office of Professional Services.

Proof of application fee ($50 for in-state
applicants and $75 for out-of-state applicants). Students pay the fee
to the Longwood University Office of Cashiering and present his or her
receipt to the Office of Professional Services for verification.

The Office of Professional Services submits the
application packet consisting of the items mentioned above to the
Virginia Department of Education.

Incomplete packets will not be submitted.
