American Speech-Language-Hearing Association
(ASHA) is the
professional, scientific, and credentialing association for
audiologists, speech-language pathologists, and speech, language, and
hearing scientists.
The
Speech-Language-Hearing Association of Virginia (SHAV) promotes
professional excellence and advocates quality services for people with
communication, swallowing, and hearing disabilities.
Formed in 1957, SHAV is a nonprofit organization of professionals
working to meet the needs of people with communication impairments in
Virginia
The
National Student Speech Language Hearing Association
(NSSLHA) is a pre-professional membership association for students
interested in the study of communication sciences and disorders.
The Longwood
chapter of
NSSLHA
is the local affiliate of the national organization. Both undergraduate
and graduate students participate in the organization providing service
to the community and promoting the profession.
