Thank you for serving as a cooperating teacher for one of Longwood University's teacher candidates.  Your time and service to Longwood University is invaluable.

One of your many responsibilities as a cooperating teacher is to complete the online documents identified below based on placement type (practicum, partnership, student teaching). All assessments are located in your myLongwood portal. The Cooperating Teacher Data Form must be submitted to receive credentials to access assessments. This and other information about the varying roles of the university supervisor, teacher candidate, and you, the cooperating teacher are outlined in the Field Experience (pdf).

Practicum (One Week)

Practicum (Three Week)

Student Teaching

The Cooperating Teacher Data Form should be submitted at the beginning of the placement, and all other assessments should be completed prior to the end of the placement. It is very important that you ensure the box at the end of the assessment indicating your final submission is checked in order for the assessment to be counted. The value of these assessments is crucial in providing the teacher candidate with feedback on their performance as well as provides the College of Education and Human Services needed data to continually improve programs and maintain accreditation for the Teacher Preparation program.

If you have any trouble locating the assessments and navigating the myLongwood portal, please consider enlisting the knowledge of your teacher candidate while they are available. If they are unavailable or unable to assist you, please contact the Associate Dean's Office by e-mail or by phone at 434.395.2546.
