Verna Mae Barr Scholarship:
This scholarship is given in honor of the late Verna Mae Barr, Class of 1932. The purpose of the scholarship is to attract and retain a deserving student(s) from only the Virginia counties of Buchanan, Dickenson, Lee, Scott, Tazewell, Washington, or Wise. The student(s) shall meet all of the criteria for admission to Longwood University. First preference shall be given to a Longwood University junior or senior who intends to obtain a Master of Science in Education with certificates in the Curriculum Specialist/Media/School Librarian.

Students are encouraged to apply for scholarships such as the Dickinson Award and the Rutherford Memorial Award available through the Virginia Educational Media Association. More information about these awards can be found at the VEMA Web site, http://www.vema.gen.va.us/awards.html
