Longwood offers a very flexible chemistry major that includes courses in all of the most important areas of chemistry. The suggested schedule below includes all of the courses required for graduation, including General Education requirements, but still has opportunities for seven elective courses. Most students choose their elective courses to complete a minor.
Try this section of the American Chemical Society website. It has an extensive list of chemistry related careers including starting salaries.
Longwood's Pre-Pharmacy major is designed to prepare our graduates to enter graduate level pharmacy programs like those at Shenandoah University and Virginia Commonwealth University. Most Pre-Pharmacy students earn college credit while working as an intern in a pharmacy.
The suggested schedule below includes all of the courses required for admission into pharmacy school, but is also a good schedule for anyone interested in related fields like medicine, dentistry, physical therapy, or biomedical chemistry. The chemistry faculty work closely with each student to devise a schedule to suit his or her objectives.
