ACS National Conference
The Longwood University student affiliate chapter of the American Chemical Society presented posters at the 226th-229th National ACS meetings.
Our first poster highlighted the efforts taken by a few chemistry majors to reactivate our chapter, recruiting, fundraising, community service, and social activities. The executive committee and our faculty advisor traveled to NY for the presentation. We saw several interesting talks at the conference, did some sightseeing, and had an awesome time! We also got to go to a taping of the Today Show where National Chemistry Week was promoted.
We have also traveled to Anaheim and Philadelphia to present both chapter posters and student research posters. Mike Johnson served as the student liaison to the ACS Undergraduate Task Force for 2004, and performed his duties extremely well!
In March 2005 we travelled to San Diego for the 229th ACS meeting and received our Commendable award for the 2003-2004 academic year. We also presented a chapter poster on both student and faculty research.
