The undergraduate ceremony is webcast live and will be available via a link on the Commencement page.
We know this is as much your day as it is the graduates and ours. We expect to have a fun-filled, exciting day on campus.
Here are a few tips that will help you to enjoy your day to the fullest. Keep reading to make the most of this wonderful day!
With more than 7,000 guests at Commencement, we suggest you designate a spot to meet your party after the ceremony.

In keeping with tradition, Commencement is held outside on Wheeler Mall, rain or shine. Longwood does not have an indoor facility large enough to accommodate our graduates and guests.
The rain plan will be put in place in the event of extreme weather events only and will be announced by 6 a.m. on the day of commencement at the latest.
Graduation is a formal academic ceremony and a special day for the graduates and their guests. Please respect this occasion and all who worked so hard to get here by remaining seated and quiet during the ceremony.
We ask that you please plan to stay for the entire ceremony and to refrain from bringing the following to the Ceremony:
Please arrive early and be seated by 9:00 a.m. as the processional begins at approximately 9:15 a.m..
The ceremony begins at 9:30 a.m. and will last approximately 3 hours.
The Ceremony is on Wheeler Mall, this is the grassy area in front of Wheeler residence hall (#17 on the map). Please see our Campus Map (pdf).
Parking is available throughout the campus at any open campus parking lot. A shuttle is available from the Wynne parking lot near the baseball stadium. Please view the 2018 Commencement Parking Map (pdf) for directions.
Free shuttle service will be provided from 7:45 a.m.-9:15 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.-1:30 p.m. at the following locations:
Tickets are not needed. There is no limit on the guests each graduate may have.
Approximately 7,000 chairs for guests are on Wheeler and many seats are in the sun. The Ceremony goes on rain or shine on Wheeler Lawn.
Umbrellas are not allowed in the general seating area because they block the view of the other guests.
Jarman Auditorium will be open with live web streaming if you want to get out of the sun.
The Inter-Fraternity Council will be selling flowers and the Longwood Bookstore will have Longwood gift items available for sale. Look for the tables on Wheeler Mall near the Blackwell Fountain.
Longwood Dining Services will offer snacks, drinks and breakfast biscuits for sale on Wheeler Mall.
First-aid stations are located on Wheeler Mall.
Only registered service animals are permitted. With the number of visitors on campus, we do not allow pets.
Smoking is allowed in designated locations only.
