• Welcome Back Students!

• Congratulations to the Primo Pi Mu Epsilon PotM Solvers for the 2007/08 Academic Year:  1st Place:  Richard Hayden, 2nd Place: Elizabeth Creath

• Congratulations to LU's COMAP Teams!  They earned an Honorable Mention and a Successful Participation.  Way to go teams!

• Longwood bested five other teams to win the  Student Jeopardy Competition at the Spring meeting of the MD-DC-VA Section of the MAA at James Madison University on April 5.  Congratulations to:  Richard Hayden, Zack Johnson, & Nikole Widder-Varhegyi.

• Congratulations to the April Computer Science PotM solvers.

• Congratulations to the April Pi Mu Epsilon PotM Solvers.

• The LU Mathematics and CS Department along with the LU Biological and Environmental Sciences Department hosted a workshop on Integrating Curricula in the Mathematical, Biological, and Environmental Sciences, on Saturday, April 12, 2008.

• Dr. Adam Fagen of the National Academies gave a presentation on "Scientific Teaching for Learning Science" on Friday, April 11.

• Ms. Kristin Yvonne Rozier, NASA Langley Research Center, will give a colloquium presentation on Thursday, September 4, 2008.
