Parking Plan
The amended campus master plan reserves space to develop new parking facilities to support the campus community. We are fortunate that the topography allows the use of cost effective structured parking known as “shelf parking”. The parking plan includes developing three new structured parking facilities. The facilities will be distributed throughout the campus and provide convenient parking for faculty, staff and students. These structures, along with an underground parking facility included in the Brock Commons design, will support our future parking needs.
Design guidelines
Design Guidelines have been established to provide an overall
direction to the outdoor features of the campus. By establishing
standards for outdoor seating, trash receptacles, lighting and
bicycle racks, Longwood can bring visual identity and consistency
throughout the campus.
Longwood currently has a wide range of site furniture in use. The Brock Common project offers an opportunity to implement
unified campus standards. The benches and lights used at the library
can be used to enhance the character of the campus. Even trash
receptacles and bicycle racks can be visual amenities, contributing
to the visual consistency of the campus.
