Construction Cost: $ 11.1 million
Construction Schedule: Starts mid to end of 2004, currently in planning stages
Architect: Moseley Architects from Virginia Beach with Recreation Consultants - Hastings & Chivetta from St. Louis, MO.
Contractor: to be determined
Project Information: Two basketball courts, one MAC court, two racquet ball courts, three multipurpose rooms for aerobics (etc), indoor running track (1/8th mile), climbing rock, main workout room with positions for approximately 180 pieces of equipment, juice bar. Equipment rental and storage space.

Offices for Student Recreation and Student Health, Wellness, and Counseling. Locker Rooms for Faculty/Staff and Students. Facility is approximately 75,000 square feet. Architects are Moseley Architects from Virginia Beach with Recreation Consultants - Hastings & Chivetta from St. Louis, MO. The facility will be located on the lower Frazer Parking lot, partially in the location of Franklin Street which will be closed.

This building will be located on the corner of Franklin St. and Main St. where the Frazer lot currently sits.

Did you miss the Recreation Center dedication?  Here's what it looked like at the ground breaking April 15th, 2005 to have a large crowd outlining the footprint of this awesome new addition to Longwood.
