From Process to Published: Class Blogging with WordPress
Have you ever wondered how to give students an authentic audience? In this workshop, we will examine the process of implementing class blogging assignments using the Longwood blogs WordPress platform. This workshop will focus on building the technical understandings and the pedagogical processes involved with blogging, including how to structure assignments and assess student work.

Echo 360 and the Active Learning Platform
Come explore the exciting updates to the Echo 360 platform. The Active Learning Platform (ALP) enables instructors to create interactive learning experiences for students using a variety of different technologies. The ALP provides students with a more interactive way to engage with Echo content, which includes the ability to ask and answer questions, participate in interactive activities, and take notes that sync with instructor content.

Let Them Be Heard: Podcasting in the Classroom
Provide students with an alternative method of writing and researching for an authentic audience. This workshop will introduce some common applications for creating podcasts. This workshop assumes no prior experience with podcasting is designed for anyone interested in podcasting.

Crafting Picture Perfect Content: Canvas and Visual Design
In this workshop, we will implement some techniques to create visually appealing and user-friendly Canvas courses. We will craft interactive homepages and examine the user experience to determine the best ways to present information and organize content. Bring a flash drive and download a set of royalty-free images for your content area from the DEC’s image library. This workshop addresses Quality Matters standards 6 and 8 and is ideal for anyone preparing for or revising based on a review.

Producing Community Resources: Using Canvas Commons
Do you consider yourself a Canvas wizard? Have you produced some really stellar resource you’re interested in sharing with Longwood or other Canvas instructors? Are you still a bit new to Canvas and interested in finding cool things by some of the people described above? Come learn about one of Canvas’ newest features, the Canvas Commons, which enables instructors to share resources across communities.
