Emergency Evacuation Procedures

The following policy applies to all Longwood University buildings; residential, administrative and academic.  The following policy applies to all individuals on Longwood's campus, residential or visitor.

1.  In the event of an emergency, try to the best of your ability to leave the building.

2.  In the event of an emergency, proceed to the nearest stairwell.  If you are able, move down the steps and out of the building.

3.  If you are not able to move down the steps, activate the Area of Rescue call button and remain at that station.

4.  If there is no Area of Rescue call button, alert fellow individuals leaving the building to your presences.  As rescue personnel arrive on the scene, the stairwells will be cleared first.
