Ms. Arkin does not remember her favorite book as a child, but she remembers her parents reading to her. There was a story about a little girl who was having a tea party and the invitations got messed up. It was in a collection of Children's Stories. When she was 8 or 9, Ms. Arkin discovered The Little Prince. (by Antoine de Saint-Expury)
Ms. Arkin does theater for a living and The Little Prince has magic and a "beautiful spirit" and it is also "hopeful"
She says that she likes many other children's books, but she "truly loves" The Little Prince.

" For Billy and the Blahs, it was because the main character was named Billy. For Katy and the Big Snow, it was a good story, and the inside cover of the book had a cool map of all the places Katy the Snowplow helped."
