Wednesday, March 11, 20206:00PM - Wednesday, March 11, 20208:00PM
At 129 North Main Street Farmville, VA 23901
Join Lauren Rice, Associate Professor of Painting and Drawing at Longwood University, as she leads a free workshop at the LCVA's Art After Dark series Wednesday, March 11th, at 6:00 p.m.
During this workshop, participants will be introduced to a wide variety of historical and contemporary artists' sketchbooks. Participants will look at (and make!) traditional sketches using drawing materials while also considering the role of our cellphones as a sketching tool. Hands-on exercises will explore the sketchbook as a place of experimentation and creative play, as well as a place for planning, list-making, collecting source material and developing observation-based skills.

Doors will open at 6:00 pm for refreshments and the program will begin at 6:15 pm. All ages are welcome to attend. This event is free and open to the public. No registration is required.
