A Shared Legacy: FOLK ART IN AMERICA tells the story of the extraordinary work created by self-taught or minimally trained artists in New England, the Midwest, the Mid-Atlantic, and the South between 1800 and 1925. The exhibition showcases more than 60 works by some of the most admired 19th-century American artists. Included are rare and very fine portraits by such artists as Ammi Phillips and John Brewster, Jr.; vivid still lifes, allegorical scenes and landscapes, including a mature Peaceable Kingdom by Edward Hicks (above)

LeUyen Pham (but you can call her “Win”) is an award-winning author and illustrator of more than 100 books for children. "There's No Such Thing As Little" will remain on view August 18-November 25th, with a Reception with the artist, October 19th 5:30-8:00pm.

The Longwood Music Department partners with the Office of Alumni and Career Service to present: A Program of German Romantic Song, with Alumnae Erin Wind and Hope Erb. ThisLieder Recital features Music Alumnae Erin Wind (mezzo-soprano) and pianist, Hope Erb. Presenting works by Clara Schumann, Gustav Mahler, Hugo Wolf, and Johannes Brahms. The concert is at 7:30pm in the Molnar Recital Hall of the Wygal Building on Longwood Campus, followed by a reception of light refreshments in the Haga Room. Join us for a magical evening to start the week off right! This event is free, and open to the public.
