LU Theatre opens their performance season by presenting Brian Friel's play, Translations. An Irish countryside and its people are threatened to be torn apart by a cultural invasion of British soldiers. Against a hauntingly beautiful backdrop, a forbidden romance between an Irish girl and a British soldier tell the story of the power and dangers of language and its ability to divide us—and sometimes help us fall in love.
