The Richmond Symphony performs at Longwood University. Longwood students will be admitted for free, with a valid student ID. Tickets for the general public are $20 each, and will be available at the door, payable by cash or check only. Tickets may also be purchased in advance, at the Longwood University Box Office, payable by cash, check, or credit card. The box office is located in the CSTAC Building on the South End of Brock Commons, and is open Tuesday through Friday from 2:00 to 6:00 pm. The Box Office phone number is (434) 395-2474.

The concert will feature the music of Leonard Bernstein, the great American composer and conductor, in recognition of the 100th anniversary of his birth. It pairs one of Bernstein's early compositions, the Serenade for Violin and Orchestra, with the famous “Eroica" Symphony of Ludwig van Beethoven. Bernstein was a noted champion of Beethoven's music and a leading interpreter of the elder master's symphonies in the course of his storied conducting career.
