Thursday, December 7, 20177:00PM - Thursday, December 7, 20179:00PM
At Jarman Auditorium, Longwood University, 201 High Street, Farmville, VA 23909
Organized by Illyria Theatre Company in partnership with several local non-profits.
“It's A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play” at Jarman auditorium on December 7, 8, and 9 at 7pm.
This spirit-filled production brings the beloved American holiday classic to the stage as the audience is transported to a 1940's radio studio. Five star performers bring dozens of characters to life in the cozy confines and conditions of a soundstage complete with golden-era microphones, Foley artist sound effects equipment, and of course, the Christmas spirit. Commercial jingles, handcrafted ingenuity, and starlet personalities create a brilliant backdrop for the timeless story of idealistic George Bailey as he considers ending his life one fateful Christmas Eve. Audience members old and young will sit in wonder as the magic of the season melds smoothly into the magic of the theater. Admission to this can't-miss-event is $12 general seating, and reservations can be completed online by clicking this link: www.illyriatheatrecompany.com/tickets, or by calling 434.298.4482. A portion of the proceeds will directly benefit local charities including the Heart of Virginia Christmas Mother and the Heart of Virginia Free Clinic.
“Illyria Theatre Company has had a dream season for its first year, and we have a lot to be thankful for,” says President and co-founder of ITC, Chris Klinger. “I can't think of a better way to celebrate the spirit of Christmas than to pull out all the stops and give back to the community that has welcomed us so dearly with a true-to-form heartwarming tale of what's really important.”
