As of May 2015, the FSA ID replaced the FAFSA PIN. The FSA ID is a modernized login process that improves security and the customer experience for the student- and borrower-based websites, including FAFSA on the Web, NSLDS Student Access, StudentLoans.gov, StudentAid.gov, and the TEACH Grant website. The new FSA ID, which is comprised of a user-selected username and password, replaced the Federal Student Aid PIN as the process by which students, parents, and borrowers authenticated their identity to access their federal student aid information.

FSA has provided a How to Create FSAID.
