Longwood in Martinsville

Earn Your Bachelor's Degree

Longwood, the New College Institute (NCI), and Patrick Henry Community College have partnered to offer residents of Martinsville and the surrounding area the opportunity to earn their bachelor’s degree in two programs of study - Liberal Studies Elementary Education or Social Work.

If you live near Martinsville and hold an Associates in Arts and Science degree (or a bachelor’s degree in a different major) you can complete either of these two programs through Longwood University without leaving the area.  Transfer to Longwood University with your associate’s degree and complete your bachelor’s degree in two to three years.

Classes are scheduled with the needs of working students in mind and meet after 4:00 during the week.

Classes are held at the New College Institute in Martinsville, Virginia in a brand new, high tech facility designed with the student in mind.  Through innovative technology, you will be connected to students and faculty on the main campus and in Emporia.
