CGPS Supports
The College of Graduate and Professional Studies Supported Initiatives
The College of Graduate & Professional Studies supports a wide range of initiatives as a responsible citizen of the university and greater community.
Some of these initiatives are the following:
Graduate Assistantships:
- Since 2008, the number of Graduate Assistantships has doubled. Graduate assistants serve a wide variety of roles across the University.
English Department Programs:
- Creative Writing Projects -graduate and undergraduate writing / publishing / editing initiatives.
- Moton Museum publication project (Graduate Assistant, undergraduate / graduate student support of publishing - editing process - marketing).
- Support the publication of faculty / student literary journals - magazines.
- Support of annual Southern Humanities Conference attendance by students and faculty.
- Support of the annual Robert and Susan May Student Conference.
- Support for travel and presentation by Composition faculty - students.
- Support for Annual Medieval Conference.
- Support for new program initiatives: Professional Writing program.
- Support for dramatic writing program - graduate assistant, production and support.
College of Education & Human Services:
- Support for faculty travel, presentations and research in the following programs: CSDS, Educational Media and Library Science, Social Work.
- 5 year program planning.
College of Business & Economics:
- Support additional graduate assistantships for faculty research.
- Support faculty and student travel for conference presentations and attendance.
College of Graduate & Professional Studies Initiatives:
- CAFÉ.
- Blackwell Talks.
- Blackwell Summer Scholarly Research Initiative.
- Retreats - Graduate Studies, Professional Studies.
