Internet Access
Longwood University
maintains a contract with Access Technology Inc. which allows special rates for Longwood students, staff, faculty, alumni or retirees. You can
view all of the information and signup Online by going to
http://www.longwoodu.org/. E-Mail Accounts
Student e-mail accounts are automatically generated
at the time of deposit. Each student is assigned a LancerNet e-mail
account and default password. The default password may be
changed at anytime through the use of the CYPHIR system online ( to access
CYPHIR visit:
https://www2.longwood.edu/cyphir/cyphir_welcome.asp). Assistance for
LancerNet passwords is available through User Support Services. A photo ID
must be presented for password assistance. Non-campus students may receive
password assistance by calling User Support Services at 434.395.4357 or toll
free 877.267.7883. Note: A LancerNet (e-mail) account is needed to access the Blackboard
system used by many faculty members in their classes.
Microsoft Campus Agreement
Longwood maintains a software licensing
agreement with Microsoft Corporation that allows every Longwood student the
following software at no charge*:
*There is a $35 per hour
charge for labor.
Dell Laptops
In an effort to bring technology
into the classroom and prepare graduates for the rapidly changing technological workforce, Longwood
University has entered into a partnership with Dell Computers Corporation to provide affordable laptop computers
to students.
