Academic Support Center

What is the Academic Support Center (ASC)?
The Academic Support Center or ASC, is a place open to all students.  Located in the Graham Building, next to the Student Health Center, students will find computer workstations with Internet connections, regular software, and specialized study skills software.  You will also find a quiet place to read or study.

Why would I go to the ASC?
The ASC provides all tutoring services for Longwood University students.  If you would like to work as a tutor, request a tutor, or volunteer as a tutor or mentor, please come to the ASC.

The Writing Lab is in the ASC.  If you have a written assignment and would like some guidance or suggestions on that paper, come to the Writing lab.  The Writing Lab staff will be more than happy to assist you.

The ASC also houses the Testing Center for Longwood University.  Students who need accommodations due to a disability or who have missed a quiz or a test due to unforeseen circumstances may, with the permission of their instructor, make up that assignment in the ASC.

What are the hours for the ASC?
The ASC is open Mondays through Thursdays from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm.   The ASC is open Fridays from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.  For additional information please call 434.395.2391
