Disability Support
Services
What is Disability Support Services?
The Office of Disability Support Services is
available to provide reasonable academic accommodations to students with
documented disabilities. Accommodations are determined on a semester-by-semester
basis and are individual and unique to the student and their current academic
needs.
Why would I go to Disability Support Services?
If you have a documented disability and would
like accommodations, please contact the director as soon as possible.
Mrs. Susan Rood, the Director, can be reached at 434.395.2391, at
roodse@longwood.edu,
or by fax at 434.395.2434.
I have a disability but I’m
doing fine.
Contact the Office of Disability Support Services
regardless of how well you are doing. For certain accommodations
to be considered, such as extended time on comprehensive exams or the use
of a computer for taking a test, a history of notification and accommodation
must be in place.
What are the hours for Disability Support Services?
The Director is available Monday through Friday
from 8:00 am to 5:00 p.m. For additional information or an appointment,
please call 434.395.2391 or via e-mail at roodse@longwood.edu.
